UNDER THE MICROSCOPE
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
- King Jesus (Matthew 7:1- 2)
You smush me between glass slides
impatient for my insides to show
while
you hasten to pass judgement
measuring what you think you know, and
while
discovering your hypothesis is a theory
you want to make fact, I’ll be here, in tact
while
my life moves independently, beneath your glare.
You focus your lenses away from what’s really there.

Reflections on the sermon I learned from at church today.
Great statement. It does seem like most of the time, the people who are looking the closest, (hoping to find something wrong) are really the most wrong about who I am. btw - is "smush" really a word? haha Gotta' love poets!
ReplyDelete"Smush" not a word, lol, but it helped you get the concept right on. There will always people to show you who you really are by assuming that you are what you are not.
